Young Writers Day
On Wednesday 17 August, several students participated in a Young Writers Collective workshop with creative artist Aśka.
The Young Writers Collective, presented by The Literature Centre, offers an open and encouraging space for young writers and creatives to learn from award-winning West Australian authors. During the workshop, students enjoy two to three interactive writing exercises and spend the day creating, collaborating and editing their work. These practical and fun days are suitable for students aspiring to be authors, journalists, editors, publishers, and film-makers, or those hoping to improve their writing skills in the classroom.
Extension Competition
'Pens Against Poverty' is a writing competition open to all students from Years Three to Ten. Entrants are to write a poem or short story, no longer than 500 words, around the theme of 'Finding a Home'.
