Year 7 Wildlife Encounters  Incursion

Year 7 Wildlife Encounters Incursion

On Monday 5th of September, Reptile Encounters brought in all sorts of animals to talk to our Year 7's about threatened and endangered species.

Snakes, lizards, salt water crocodiles, barking owls, frogs and a Bettong just to name a few.

The student's interacted with the animals and were enthralled learning about the animals and the potential dangers they face.

The program aims to introduce students to some of Australia's most threatened and endangered wildlife. Students explore why species become endangered, what needs to be done to save them and how everyone can help.

Students learnt about the IUCN red list of threatened species, which is a worldwide conservation status listing and ranking system.

Learning about sustainability allows students to develop the knowledge, skills and values necessary to contribute to more sustainable patterns of living."
