From the Deputy Principal

Megan Nertney

The last few weeks I have been recovering from an injury that I acquired as I was preparing my book week costume. It seems there will be a long road of recovery ahead, but it has taught me some valuable lessons. We are not invincible, patience is important, sometimes things are hard, but you can do hard things when you have a growth mindset. These lessons are part of the values we have been teaching the children at Living Waters this term.

Our Village went on camp on Tuesday and Wednesday at the Discovery Park Caravan Park. I had the pleasure of joining them. We had beautiful weather, in fact it was a little bit hot, which took us by surprise. There was much laughter, excitement, and many smiles as we tried new things. A favourite was the pedal cars and the treasure hunt. Not much sleep was had but we did have a lot of fun! A big thank you to Miss Binns, Mrs Hendricks and Ms Hiku for organizing the camp. We had several parent helpers, and we thank them for their time and support during camp.

Oh! What a night! We had our Year 4 to 6 concert last night. The children stole the show. They were well prepared and very entertaining. Thank you to Ms Beven for her expertise and organisation. However, with a concert like this there were many other hands that helped so thank you to all the staff.

National Day of Mourning has been granted across Australia for Thursday 22nd September. This public holiday is to coincide with a memorial service for the Queen. Our School will be closed on this day, so the last day for students will be on Wednesday. We are coming to the end of another great term of learning at Living Waters. Enjoy the break and we will see you back for Term 4 on Monday 10th October.
