From the Principal

Term 3 has flown by and we are excited to be heading into the Spring holidays. The last 10 weeks have been packed full of wonderful experiences for our students culminating in the School Concert and 130 students on stage singing the Best Day of My Life - how proud a moment. It was wonderful to see so many parents, carers, family and friends attend the live show after 2 years of the concert being online.

Students have also had the opportunity to participate in the inaugural Public School Showcase, eisteddfod, Ten Pin Bowling competition, local outings and sport. No wonder everyone is starting to look a bit tired with so much activity as well as their class learning.

During the holidays I will be meeting with people from Woolworths to look at setting up a Mini-Woolies at school. This will give our students real-life opportunities to develop their retail skills in a safe and supported environment. Each mini store is stocked with a range of groceries, fitted with baskets, shelving, ticketing, signage and Woolworths branded uniforms the students can wear to create a fully immersive experience. At check out, grocery items are scanned using fully operational Fujitsu registers and include the experience of money handling, store receipts and the bagging of items.

Year 12 complete their academic year this term after 13 years of schooling. This is a momentous occasion and exciting for the 15 students graduating this year. We have big celebrations next term with the Year 12 Graduation and final Presentation ceremony held to recognise the wonderful achievements of our students. Year 12 will receive their final academic report and will continue into Term 4 with a community engagement program that will provide them with work experience opportunities and visits to day programs, etc.

Year 11 also complete their academic work for this year and start on Year 12 content next term. Reports will be sent home this term.

Wishing everyone a restful holiday.
