Subject Changes

Some students have been asking about subject changes lately.

The timetable and staffing for 2019 are almost completed, and these are based heavily on student choice. For this reason changes at the Years 7- 10 level are not possible.

Year 11 and 12 students have a small window of opportunity to change subjects during our HEADSTART Program. It is recommended that students at least try out their current choice for 2- 3 days at the beginning of HEADSTART. If students then feel that they have made an error in selection, they should collect a SUBJECT CHANGE form from their House Leader. This form requires a parental signature, together with the subject teacher and House Leader.

All subject change forms must be submitted to the front office no later than 3.00 pm Monday 26 November. Changes will be accommodated as far as possible but cannot be guaranteed due to limits on class size and possible clashes. For further information, please contact Mr Dalley or Mrs Mansfield at Cranbourne Campus or Mr Windley or Ms Slykerman at Clyde North Campus.

Examination Requirements

I hope that by now all Year 10 and 11 students are well into their revision routines and looking forward to demonstrating their learning at the end of semester examinations. The College recently received a flyer from VCAA regards Mobile Phones in the examination centre. St Peter’s College models our Year 10 and Year 11 examinations on the VCAA requirements. In this way, students are given a clear sense of the standards required at the VCE level.

I include here a link to the examination rules. Please take a moment to discuss these with your sons and daughters to ensure they are fully prepared for the upcoming exams.

Students only attend the College during their allocated examination time.

Study space will be available for students who wish to study in between exams.

DOSCEL Secondary Strategic Plan

This week I travelled to Warrigal to participate with other Deputy Principals of the Diocese in the development of the Secondary Strategic Plan. Using an accelerated Change 2 process, the group discerned the priority for learning in the coming years. In essence, the priority for all of our Secondary Colleges will be to ensure greater than 12 months growth in numeracy and literacy for each student. This goal is a highly aspirational but certainly one well worth pursuing.

To support the achievement of this goal DOSCEL and St Peters are investing in sponsorship of two further qualifications for staff
