The Tyndale Cup

The prestigious Tyndale Cup was held on the  Friday 31 August. This is where the three Tyndale campuses, Salisbury, Strath and Murray Bridge compete against each other in a sporting event for the Cup. It is an event that is held annually and involves mostly the senior students. The sport of choice this year was Volleyball.

This was the second Tyndale Cup, with Strath being the previous victor. So could Strath defend its title and go back to back or would a new champion emerge to claim its first title?

Each campus played each other once, with the top two performing campuses going through to the grand final and the chance to claim the cup.

While Murray Bridge competed hard, the little cousins could not muster enough to get a win.

Strath went undefeated in the minor rounds while Salisbury had one win and one loss. This meant it was Strath verses Salisbury in the granny.

Strath was the favourite heading in but Salisbury, the campus with its own postcode, was every chance to win. The game was close from the get go. Salisbury came out firing to claim the first set, with Strath looking a little rattled. Strath lifted in the second set, winning it comfortably. It was point for point in the final set but Strath managed to win some crucial late points and claim the third, which meant back to back Tyndale Cups for Strath.

After the battle for the Cup, the three campuses had a chance to get together and do some quality bonding over an old favourite,  the snag and bread. While winning the glorious Cup was a primary goal, it was even better to get together and connect as three campuses but one School. We look forward to next year's battle for the cup. A three-peat for Strath maybe?
