In Brief

Quiz Night - Huge thanks to the families that came out Thursday night. It was a whole lot of fun and $502 was raised to support the work of local community welfare groups providing food hampers to those most in need in our region through our Anti-Poverty week focus.

Food Donations - As part of Alexandrina Council's Anti-Poverty week, we have also been collecting non-perishable food items on their behalf. The last day to bring these items in is Monday. Please send a non-perishable food item in with each of your children to be placed in the storage bins in each class. Your generosity in this way not only supports local families but sets a wonderful example to your children - People Matter.

Secondary School Information Night - Tuesday 18 September at 6:30pm in classrooms S8 & S9  for those families with children in Years 5 & 6 for a valuable session on what lies ahead in Secondary School and meet the teaching staff.

Parent Teacher Interviews - Still a few vacancies left for Primary & Secondary Parent teacher Interviews.  Bookings must be made via this link.

(A reminder that ELC interviews are only as required and the teachers will be in touch with those they would like to meet with).

School Holiday Office Hours - The office will be unattended during the School Holiday break. Emails to strathalbyn@tyndale.sa.edu.au will be responded to as staff are available to do so.

School Uniform / Uniform Shop - With the change of season approaching and the warmer weather arriving, just a reminder that the Summer Uniform gets dusted off and returns in time for Term 4!

The Uniform Shop is open Mondays and Fridays from 8:30am to 9:30am and again on Wednesdays from 2:45pm to 3:45pm.

Please note that the Uniform Shop will also be open in the holidays on the last Friday, 12 October from 9:00am to 2:00pm, for all last minute Summer Uniform requirements.

Les Miserables - We are very much looking forward to our second School Musical for 2018 - Les Miserables. Rehearsals are well underway and tickets via trybooking.com will be available from next week.

2019 Enrolments - Some of our year levels for 2019 have already filled with some families now on a waiting list. We do however, have vacancies in a number of year levels, particularly four year levels of which double streaming will be likely. If you have friends or family interested in speaking with me regarding the enrolments of their children, the last opportunity for a Principal's School Tour is Tuesday 23 October 2018.  Bookings can be made online at http://st.tyndale.sa.edu.au/enrolments/school-tours

If you expect that your circumstances have changed for 2019 or you will be moving from the area, a reminder that one full term's notice is required in writing. A letter addressed to Mr Nigel Croser will be required by Monday 15 October 2018 to avoid a term's fees being charged in lieu of notice given.

East Tce Car Parking - I was contacted this week by the Main Roads Department concerned with reports that some parents were parking over the railway line at the bottom end of East Tce. I was fairly certain that parents of Tyndale students wouldn't park so far from our School but regardless, thought it was well worth the reminder that parking within 20m of the rail lines is a breach of rule 175 of the Australian Road Rules under the Road Traffic Act 1961.

Holiday Activities - For lots of suggestions on what to do with the children these holidays, from camps and daytrips to sporting opportunities, please see the Community News page at the end of the Newsletter.

If there is anything further you require clarification on, please don't hesitate to be in touch via the office on 8536 5400 or email strathalbyn@tyndale.sa.edu.au

Kind regards,
