As the summer heat winds down, so is the production of eggs. However, we are hoping they will lay more consistently over the coming weeks, our girls are enjoying being let out to scratch in the vegetable patch. Over the break, they were taken good care of by the SAKG team and seem to be happy to have everyone back at school.

Year 4 students have been busy in the garden, working hard to maintain the summer veggies. We harvested a huge amount of zucchinis, tomatoes, cucumbers, lemons and squash. Our corn crop is coming along nicely but most exciting for the students are the gorgeous sunflowers. Check them out! We will let the flower head go to seed so students can explore plant life cycle.

In the kitchen, we used the harvested veggies mentioned and cooked zucchini muffins, zucchini and tomato pasta and tomato and garlic focaccia.
