Modern Day ANZACs

Our Aussies at War students received a visit from David and Brendan. Both David and Brendan are veterans from the Australian Defence force, and both served in the army for a number of years.

David served in Iraq during 2006/2007 and Brendan in Afghanistan during 2010, both in combat roles. They shared their stories and experiences with the students and spoke of the importance of mateship, discipline, and commitment. They were also able to shed some light on the difference between modern warfare and what the soldiers in WW1 and WW2 would have experienced.

The students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain a brief insight into what life is like for our modern-day ANZACs. Thank you to Ms. Hewes for organising this engaging and enlightening incursion.
