Athletics Carnival

For the first time since COVID hit, full participation and spectators were allowed at a Kildare carnival. The enthusiasm and participation of the more than 700 students who attended was fantastic. The Senior students lead by example, participating in as many events as they could and were by far the biggest age group on the day. It was great to see students encouraging others throughout the day whether it be by running alongside them or cheering from the side of the track.

There were some very impressive athletes lighting up the track and field again this year with 12 records broken. Special Mention to Lachlan Field who broke 3 Records.

The tug o war, by the Year 12’s, was once again a highlight of the carnival. In a hotly contested event, Romero won, even beating the teachers.

Well done to all our students on your participation and efforts. At one stage, just before the relays, the scores were tied at 801 each between Gandhi and Benedicta, with Oodgeroo and King only a handful of points further behind. The relays and participation proved the difference with Benedicta coming out on top.
