Larni Sullivan Hair Donation

Many of our students here at Kildare are involved in community service, fundraising activities or are passionate about helping others, going above and beyond to assist others in need.

Recently, Year 11 student Larni Sullivan decided to donate her hair to ‘Real Fringe’.

Real Fringe Hair Bands was founded by Nicole DeMatos who has been an oncology nurse since 2000. She has supported countless patients through their treatments and witnessed their personal struggles with the side effects of these life-saving treatments.

Real Fringe Hair Bands are created for oncology and alopecia patients (or anyone who suffers from a hair loss condition). Their headbands are made from real human hair that is either donated by generous donors such as Larni.

Larni donated 25cm of her hair to Real fringe so they can make a hair band for someone in need. “This was very special to me as it's always been a dream of mine to donate my hair for a special cause”. “To make the people who suffer from hair loss happy with the hair I donated makes me overjoyed that something so little can make someone's day that little bit better”.

Well done Larni, a great example of assisting others in our community.
