Performing Arts

We’ve had so much fun in Performing Arts over the last couple of weeks, especially with all the information coming out about our school production Shrek Jr. the Musical!

I hope by now you have all visited the production site and looked at the characters, listened to some songs and read through the storyline. The auditions for the main roles are commencing in the last week of this term 29th-31st of March. At the end of this week I am collecting the sign-up sheets and the audition schedules will be posted on the production site and displayed in the classrooms on Monday the 22nd of March.

I have also added a FAQs page to the production site. Here is where you can ask questions about the production and I will try my best to answer them ASAP.

During Performing Arts the Prep students have continued to focus on beats and rhythms, playing Xylophones and Rhythm Sticks to follow beats and create music.

The grade 1 and 2 students have begun to learn singing exercises and a song. They have also been working on their acting skills in preparation for the school production.

The 3&4s have also commenced singing exercises and working with their sock puppets to sing a song.

The grade 5 and 6 students are continuing with their scene/script writing and character development task. Some groups have incorporated singing into their performances. I can’t wait to see their final products!

Happy practising to all those 3, 4, 5 and 6 students auditioning for the production!

Kind regards,
