School Bus Travel - Year 2 (Year 3 2020)

Applications for student travel in 2020 opened on Friday 11 October 2019.

Students progressing to Year 3 no longer need to re-apply if they:

  • are continuing at the same school
  • are residing at the same address
  • have not been sent an expiry notification from Transport for NSW.

Where a student meets the new distance eligibility, the system will automatically update their entitlement.  If they do not meet the new eligibility, they will receive an expiry notification via email.

Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition which is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply.

Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply.

If students need to update their information or re-apply, they should go online to https://apps.transport.nsw.gov.au/ssts/updateDetails

Applications need to be submitted before 31 December 2019 to ensure student entitlements are updated and their current entitlement/card is not cancelled.  If their application is submitted after 31 December 2019, the system will automatically cancel an entitlement/card and a new one will need to be issued.

Students in the Opal network applying for a SSTS or Term Bus Pass entitlement for the first time will receive their card at their nominated postal address. Cards will be mailed out from January 2020.

Students residing in Rural and Regional (R&R) areas should receive their travel pass at the commencement of the new school year from their nominated operator, this may be distributed via the school or sent direct to their address. Note: some R&R operators do not issue travel passes. Students/Parents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a pass.

Congratulations Chloe W

Last week, Chloe attended the Diocesan Public Speaking final held at St Thomas Aquinas Bowral.

Chloe came first and is now a diocesan champion. This is such a huge achievement and reflects Chloe's hard work, commitment and willingness to grow as a learner.

Thank you Chloe for representing St Joseph's so well. We are very proud of you.

You can access your outstanding fee balance through the COMPASS Parent Portal.

Please contact the school office to arrange an appointment with Mrs Charadia if you feel you  are experiencing financial difficulties.

SJB’s Got Talent 2019

This year we will again be holding SJB’s Got Talent-Showcase where students are given an opportunity to share their creative talents in their class. We encourage students to form groups as this will allow more performers an opportunity to participate.  Please note that the time limit for each act is 3 minutes.  Teachers will organise and communicate with you when the In CLASS showcase will take place in your child’s class.

Finalists from each class will then be invited to showcase their talent in front of the whole school and parents during Week 9 and 10 after lunch. The schedule for these performances will be sent home on Friday of Week 8.

We are also inviting ‘WILDCARD’ performances to enter SJB’s Got Talent.  A wildcard performance will be an act that may include students from various grades performing together. Please note that we encourage children who are well rehearsed to request a WILDCARD entry. Please contact Mr Aguilera if you would like more information or if you would like your child and their group to be considered for a ‘WILDCARD’ entry.
