A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL

Hi Everyone,

Farewell

I would like to start this newsletter with a sad goodbye to two valuable staff members, Hayley one of our OT’s and Tommy one of our ES staff. Both are going on to bigger (but not better) things and we wish them well.

Traffic

Parents and carers who drop their students off will have noticed big changes to our traffic management system. We now have two staff physically managing the gates and directing traffic. We have had a Worksafe Inspector out to school and she is working with us to try to create a safer environment for our vulnerable students. Michael and Paul will be attending a meeting with the council around this matter and I hope to have more news soon. In the meantime I thank you for your patience. We do need to sort out the chaos and congestion before someone gets hurt.

Student Accident Insurance

From time to time students suffer injury at school, DET does not offer accident insurance but there are many private companies who offer this service. We have some information at the office for any families who may be interested in private accident insurance.

Label Those Winter Woollies!

Well winter is really upon us now, mornings are cold and frosty and we are all dressing as warmly as possible. Sadly it is often hard to get students outside to play as we have to run a wet weather timetable. When we do go outside it is important that your child has suitable clothing. All of this clothing, jumpers, jackets and coats needs to be clearly named, when our students play and warm up they sometimes take clothing off. We cannot return it to the correct owner if it is not named. If you have lost items recently please come and have a look in our lost property hamper in reception.

We Are Turning 30 Years Old!

In August we are celebrating 30 years on this site in Narre Warren. August the 2nd will be a party day for students and Saturday 3rd August will be an open day for family and friends as well as past students and staff. There will be more information about this early next term but please save the dates!!

Sick Students

Finally another plea…….please, please keep sick students home. If you send sick children to school then everyone gets sick.

2pm Finish Next Friday (28th June)

There is one week left until school holidays! This means school finishes at 2pm next Friday 28th June. Have a safe and happy term break, see you all in term 3.

Kind Regards

Sue
