Mr. Irwin's Message

Hello Families and welcome to this weeks newsletter,

House Aths Day

Last Friday was our House Athletics Carnival and I want to thank Mr Maskell and Mrs McHenry for the effort that went into organising and running the event. The students did a fabulous job participating and attempting all the different games and events. The man hours in organising a day like this are vast and often go unseen on the day so its important to acknowledge our staff for once again going above and beyond to create a wonderful event for students. A huge thanks to our families that volunteered time helping sell muffins, helping setup and packup or who came and joined in watching on the day and gave it a tremendous atmosphere. It was genuinely exciting to have a bustling whole school event back on one again!

Cross Country/Colour Run

This leads into our next whole school event which will be our Cross Country on Friday, April 29th, which is the first Friday after the school holidays. Our Parents' Club have organised a Colour Explosion fundraiser which will coincide with this day. Information on how to fundraise for this event will be sent home shortly, and proceeds will go towards the continued landscaping of the front area of the school with different play activities for students. We were so well supported with fundraising by families last year and once again as a growing school every little bit makes a difference!

Soccer Pitch

Finally for this week, I am pleased to share that our synthetic soccer pitch works are underway and due to be completed by the start of Term 2. We received a grant from the state government for this project at the end of 2020 to the value of $100,000. This will provide a great surface for over winter for Physical Education, House Sports practice and recess and lunchtime play. I look forward to sharing the finished product with you soon.

Bye for Now!
