Student Activism

In 2020, dispensers for feminine hygiene supplies were installed in female restrooms at CESC. Unfortunately, due to COVID and other supply issues these dispensers have remained empty practically ever since. Thanks to the efforts of the 2021 SRC, and in particular Özlem Coruk, the dispensers have been refilled. Also, they will now be refilled every 12 weeks on a continuous cycle. With nearly 700 female students at the college the dispensers will be monitored in case they need to be refilled more frequently.

Student Voice

As Roger Holdsworth wrote in the publication Connect:

“Student voice and agency intends to change and improve students’ roles, ownership and engagement and hence improve student outcomes.”

Student leadership is a part of this objective but empowering every student with voice and agency is the goal.
