COVID-19

Supporting student safety at school

Please wear a mask

Although the mask rules for low-risk settings are changing, the rules for Tasmanian schools remain unchanged for now.

To help us comply with the requirements for high-risk settings and keep each other safe, we kindly ask that parents and carers continue to wear face masks when visiting our school buildings and classrooms.

We will continue to keep our community informed on the current situation under advice from Public Health and Catholic Education Tasmania.

Junior School update

Public Health Tasmania has instructed the College to complete a one-off full sweep of the Junior School.

Parents and carers of Junior School students are required to test their child/ren tonight using a rapid antigen test (RAT) supplied by the College.

If your child/ren test positive for COVID-19, please inform the College as soon as possible at covid@smc.tas.edu.au

If your child/ren returns a negative result, they may return to school tomorrow morning (Thursday 10 March).

All students will receive three rapid antigen tests but only need to test once, at this stage.

Please note that students and staff in classes 4M, 4B and 6W will not be required to participate in the sweep test as they are already subject to existing testing requirements for a class cluster.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
