Mrs Callaway
I have been the buddy teacher to Mr Hopkins in 1H during term 2. I have really enjoyed working closely with the students day in and day out and seeing their progress. Each day I work with my focus students for reading, writing and maths. In Writing, we have been working hard to write Imaginative stories over the past week and our theme was travelling to Mars in a Spaceship! In Maths this week my students have been learning about division and the concept of equal sharing. It has been fantastic to see the students’ making real life connections to their learning and being able to share items equally to ensure it is fair!
Mr Kinniburgh
During Term 2, I have been working with 5/6B. My focus has primarily been with the Year 5 component of the class, whilst Mrs Bawa has been able to spend more time with Year 6. It has been good to return back to classroom teaching after being part of the Learning and Support team for the last four years. I thank Mrs Bawa and 5/6B for allowing me into their space. Working with them has reminded me about all of the things that I miss about having my own class, but I am also looking forward to returning back to my support role next term when I will once again be working with families, teachers and students in many of the classes across the school.
Mrs Craig
During Term 1 Mrs Craig worked with Fairvale’s ATSI students. Each ATSI student has been working hard to achieve their own academic and social goals. These goals include working on their sentence structure, gaining confidence in number skills and practising editing their writing. This term Mrs Craig is currently supporting Mr Nguyen with the Learning from School Plan but is continuing to check in on her ATSI students to provide support when needed. She looks forward to working one on one with her ATSI students in Term 3.
