Students are continuing their positive attitudes, excellent behaviour and hard work.  It’s a pleasure to see children enjoying being at school each day!

As a reward for their outstanding efforts there will be a free dress day on Friday this week.  This suggestion was made at last night’s P&C meeting and I thought that it was an excellent idea.  Due to the short notice, the only requirements are that clothing is appropriate for school (e.g. no midriff tops) and closed in shoes suitable for physical activity are worn.  This event is for fun and not a fundraiser so there’s no need to send a donation.

To continue our support of students throughout this pandemic situation, our Term 3 Tally Way focus will be on resilience and generosity.  Through this whole-school wellbeing program, we will be teaching children about attitudes and behaviours to assist them to further develop resilience.  We are pairing resilience with generosity to ensure the continuation of our positive school culture of optimism, care and helpfulness. Updates about what is being taught will be included in the Tally Way section of next term’s newsletters.

P&C

The P&C Annual General Meeting was held yesterday and the new executive members were elected.  It is my pleasure to introduce the new P&C Executive Team:

The next P&C meeting will be on Monday 27 July at 4.00pm.  To enable the required COVID safe planning, RSPVs are required by 20 July to tallebudgerapandc@gmail.com.

Thank you very much to the 2019 – 2020 P&C Executive Team Alex Wynn (President), Mandy Elvin (Vice-President), Kate Warren (Vice-President), Danielle Williams (Secretary) and Martinia O’Sullivan (Treasurer) for their work to contribute to Tallebudgera State School and our community.

The 2019 – 2020 P&C, with the support of our wonderful volunteers, successfully fundraised and their legacy will include: the addition of valuable learning resources to our library, a beautified outdoor stage area, learning objects painted around the school and an amazing new outdoor Art and Science learning area. That’s not to mention their many other achievements such as providing opportunities for children and community members to have fun (e.g. the Run 4 Fun Colour Explosion), a new display board, fencing near the Prep playground, support of graduating students, volunteer appreciate and much more.

Advance Notice -

Book Character Costume Day

One of our annual highlights is our Book Character Costume Day.  This year it is scheduled for Wednesday 26 August.  Children are encouraged to dress in costume as their favourite book character and are asked to bring the book with them on the day.  I am looking forward to this special event that forms part of our celebration of reading within our Book Week.

Help Local Businesses

Please help our local businesses by only parking in the Man on the Bike carpark if you are a customer.  We provide supervised collection of students from ‘Drop and Go’ each afternoon and encourage parents and carers to use that service due to the limited parking near our school.

Tallebudgera State School community, thank you very much for your support this term! I wish all families a safe and happy holiday period and look forward to welcoming our students to Term 3 on Monday 13 July.

Kind regards
