Physical Education

Another great week of PE for our MPRPS students. In Week 4, our Senior students will be completing a Netball or any ball that is pumped up and that can be used for catching and throwing with success. Students also need markers for netball drills and we are playing a bowling game on Friday which will require empty bottles so please start collecting these.

Our juniors will this week be focusing on athletic activities that require little in the way of equipment apart from a few markers and a whole lot of enthusiasm! We are going to be trying to keep the energy levels up even as the cold starts to set in.

Looking forward to another fun week!

Visual Arts

Last week has once again seen some great collaborations between family members. Grades Foundation  -  2 went on an alphabet treasure hunt and students made amazing collections of letters they found,  both in their neighbourhood and around the house. It was again very hard to choose a pupil of the week, as so many students submitted outstanding work via seesaw. We have many notable moments to report. Grades 3/4 have not yet posted their new work which was drawing and building a three dimensional house, however the drawing with shadows work from week 2 produced some truly amazing and original work. A special mention goes again to Kayden in 3/4 G for his excellent initiative and self-directed extension to create a commemorative artwork for Anzac day using shadows to great effect. Very impressive. Years 5/6 have extended themselves in creating isometric drawings practising their ability to create the illusion of 3 Dimensionality. Well done for everybody for persevering and being creative and  productive. Enjoy the week ahead as we experience colder days allowing us to appreciate the cosiness of our homes getting creative indoors.

Performing Arts

After watching all the videos last week I can see that MPRPS students can really move and groove.  I have enjoyed watching your dance and music creations each day and seeing you improve on your techniques and performances.

Year 1/2 - You will be getting five new words this week to create your dance moves to.

Year3/4 - We will be looking at the 1950s - Rock n Roll

Year 5/6 - A new song and some challenging new cup rhythms to have a go at.

Everyone - Keep an eye out for a whole school dance to get you moving and shaking.

Don't forget Senior Choir will be meeting at 11.30am on Monday, check Google classroom for the Zoom meeting code.

Cant wait to see your new creations this week,

Have a rockin week everyone!

Indonesian

Selamat sore, semuanya!

I feel so proud of how our students have embraced the challenges and persevered with their Indonesian work the last few weeks. Students have again shown creativity as well as a willingness to learn and challenge themselves! While the Foundation students start to learn colours in Indonesian, 1/2 students have been learning how to say objects that might be found at home or at school. 3/4 students continue to learn about the endangered animals of Indonesia while completing or creating games and quizzes! In 5/6, students are exploring the geography of Indonesia and what makes it such a wonderful place to visit and explore. We start off with the beautiful island of Bali!

Please explore these photos of student work from across the two weeks! Sampai nanti!

Have an amazing week!

Bu Marissa Mundy

Pupil of the Week

Physical Education:

Junior: Molly B - 1/2BR

Well done, Molly! I have thoroughly enjoyed seeing the work that you have submitted each week for your online PE lessons. You show humour and zest in all of your work and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. Awesome effort!

Senior: Jonny D - 3/4R

Congratulations Jonny for your PE learning at home. You always use zest and creativity in your tasks and it’s been wonderful to see you working together with your family. Excellent work Jonny!

Indonesian:

Junior: Louis D - 1/2H

For completing the week’s task by creating labels for objects as well as going above and beyond by naming and describing the colour of these objects in Indonesian. Wah, hebat!

Senior: Thomas M - 5/6B

For creating a truly unique penjor to explore Bali’s culture and religious celebrations. It is amazing how you were able to draw parallels from the natural resources the Balinese use to resources from your garden. Hebat!

Visual Arts:

Junior: Xavier H - 1/2H

A most impressive display of his love of learning, curiosity and creativity make Xavier H this week’s Pupil of the Week in 1/2H. What an amazing collection of letters. I would frame this. So good - Well done Xavier.

Senior: Saksham C - 5/6 S

For his perseverance and good artistic judgement with his paper mache bunny. I particularly commend him on not giving up and completing a beautiful artwork within an appropriate time frame.

Performing Arts:

Junior: Arnab P - FG

An excellent display of creativity in your facial expressions for the Dancing Face performance. I am really impressed by Arnab’s zest, confidence and enthusiastic attitude. Keep up the good work.

Senior: Megan E - 5/6B

For demonstrating initiative and extending herself by taking on the challenge to sing and play a complicated cup rhythm at the same time.  Megan showed courage and shone like a star! Well done!
