Planetarium

During our Space topic last term we made a Planetarium in our classroom using a gazebo and lots of black material to cover it up and make it dark inside. It nearly covered our whole room. We made a big sun out of a lantern and we put a torch inside to light it up. Then we made all the planets out of balloons and we made them different colours and sizes so they looked like the planets. We put torches inside them and when we blew them up, we could still turn them on so in the dark we could see all the planets.

Also we put glow in the dark stars all over the walls and we had a moon that could turn on and change the light so you could see the phases of the moon. It was great fun to lie down inside and it felt like we were in space. We invited our friends in UP to come over to have a look and they loved it too. We also invited all the classes at TPS to visit and we all had a turn to give them a talk when each group came into our fantastic Planetarium. We also showed them our balloon rockets and everyone thought they were great. Our space topic was the best!
