Kii TPS community!

What an eventful last few months we've had!

To our TPS Social Committee & The Lowtowns a big thank you for our "Dead Famous Trivia Night" a wonderful evening last Saturday! Your continual work on raising funds, organising events, welcoming new families doesn't go unnoticed and is greatly appreciated. The total funds raised is roughly $12000 and this will go towards developing/modifying our garden shed into a clean and sealed Kitchen Garden Classroom.

Last week we saw the completion of our "Garden Dreaming Project" one the largest ground works we've had at TPS in a long time.  It’s been a fantastic team effort over the last five years, from the first ideas, student workshops, community surveys, concepts, fundraising, plans, more fundraising, revised plans and the installation process which began with the shade sail more than a year ago. There are many people to thank, but a few to highlight are: Carol McConville design and project management, Leon, Megan and TPS School Council for supporting the project, TPS Social Team for all the fundraising over two trivia nights, TPS staff and students for tolerating sometimes seemingly endless works to navigate, Renee Wierzbicki, Ian Adams, Mel Collins, Alicia Flynn, Jo Missen, Kate Popisil, Tash Van Veltzen and the rest of the TPS Enviro Team past and present.

TPS NAIDOC Day celebrations were also a great success, a big ngogon godgin to our Koorie community for sharing this special day, the words spoken by our kids at the assembly sends such a positive message to the young and old. Also ngogon godgin to our teachers for putting on breakfast and activities.  We also launched our "Deadly Hoodies" on this day, which have been a great success; we've sold over 280. The hoodies will now be sold at the uniform shop during normal shop hours (Wednesday 8:30 - 10am). There has been great interest from the parents for adult size hoodies, please stay tuned via Compass as we workout a way to facilitate this.

Last school holidays at TPS saw the commencement of the Teamkids holiday program. The program met with positive feedback, a big thank you to Lucy Paplinska and James Stratford for your work in getting the this program up and running. The program will continue these upcoming September holidays - and in fact bookings are already open! Follow this link to find out more about what's available and how to book. https://teamkids.com.au/venues/thornbury-primary-oshc/

We would also like to thank our Winter Festival committee, and all who helped organise the 100 years of Steiner Education celebrations. The Winter Festival, whilst simpler than recent years was still a fantastic community event, and followed straight on from a whole school day of Steiner based activities, watercolour painting, singing, drama, form drawing, nature play and more. Another great community celebration that helps improve understanding of each other. It was a great hit.

The Second Hand Uniform stall was a great success. Thanks to everyone who donated items and who bought from the stall.  We will run the stall again on Thursday 12 Sept from 7:30am. Location still to be finalised.  Please continue to place donations of clean uniforms in the basket in the foyer.  Thank you for your patience as we finalise our uniform supplier. We hope to have new uniforms with the new logo ready for term 4 if not sooner.

Last we have received the final copy of our master plan, this has been a long term project looking at the future of TPS infrastructure. The plans have been presented to North West Facilities manager. The plans are based on feedback from students, teachers and parents and department requirements. This is by no means the final design but a document for the school to use to put it's case forward and further lobbying. TPS Master Plan Booklet
