T.I.M.E (Music)

Victorian School Music Festival 2019

Our fabulous TPS Class 6 Orchestra performed as part of the VSMF this July at the Hawthorn Town Hall. They were conducted by Caitlin French and guest conducted and adjudicated by Soo Han from America.

“ The VSMF is a festival for young musicians to perform, compete and learn. After we took our places on stage we played songs in front of the other schools and our guest conductor. Our excited faces watched as our guest conductor approached the stage and he helped us by telling us the things we could improve on to learn and enjoy.  It was very exciting and fun and I will always remember it. “ Emma Matthias

“It was a good experience because at the end of our performance a professional conductor told us what we could do better which was very helpful. We then watched some other people perform which was super entertaining. When we were going home we got fries. It was super fun!” Tim Pope / Joseph Stephens Keane

“I felt very accomplished!” Ryan Chesney

STRINGS SOLOS CONCERT

Acacia: I was nervous on the night, but when it was my turn to perform I did my solo and it wasn’t that bad

Shayna: It was the first time I played a song on my cello in front of a lot of people. I felt nervous, scared, frightened and surprised. The song I played was Allegro. It was easy and worth having a go at, as I had a really good time playing.

Lucius: Entering the solos concert I was nervous. I feel that I could have done better, but I am proud of how I played as well.

Telisa: The string solos was a lovely learning experience. I was a bit nervous and I feel that I didn’t play my song to my very best. Over all under pressure I tried my best and I enjoyed playing for our community.

Janaina: At the solo strings concert I enjoyed listening to the other people play their songs and listening to the music. I practiced a lot and was very happy how my performance turned out. I was a bit scared to play, but once I begun I was fine.

Gypsy: I enjoyed listening to my peers play their pieces. When I played I was very happy that I had been practicing a lot at home. I was glad to have Caitlin playing with me.

Arthur: I had fun performing and it was a great experience to see the others play their fabulous pieces. I enjoyed performing as I have done so for a long time, however I wish I had pizza afterwards.

Joseph: I loved performing with and watching my classmates. It was really fun and exciting, and I can’t wait to do it again.
