3/4s Learning from Home

Greetings from our laptop screens

As soon as the clock struck 9am, Google Classrooms came to life yesterday. It was almost as if ‘Sons of the West’ had finishing blaring out over the PA and the bell had sounded, signifying the start of another school week.  Students were able to watch welcome back videos from their teachers, jump straight into remote community circles and a range of learning activities that had been prepared for them. For the first time in their careers, the teachers were pleased to see their email inboxes filling up as students inundated them with greetings and questions.

The positive attitude and growth mindset displayed when overcoming technical difficulties was astounding, and we couldn’t be more proud of how our students have started the new term. A big thank you to the parents too; your support at this challenging time is most appreciated! Obviously, things seem to change daily at the moment and so will the way Google Classroom is used. Daily lessons, specific to each subject, will be uploaded from next week as we move away from the Learning From Home booklet. I also know that many classes are excited to begin experimenting with video conferencing in their Classrooms. This will help keep the social connections and Tribes Agreements alive whilst we are temporarily away from each other.

To reiterate the Flexibuzz from Tuesday, we as a team want to help out as much as possible during this challenging time, so feel free to directly send your teacher an email.

All the best
