CELEBRATING OUR FAITH

Christian Living Days

Last week the Lasallian Youth Ministry conducted retreat days with year 10 and year 7. Both days were very worthwhile, and our students engaged well with the themes presented. Year 10 learned about S.O.S. - service, opportunity and sacrifice - and were challenged to seek opportunities to do things for other people. "Good people are like candles - they burn themselves up to give others light."

The Year 7 theme was "Building Community", and the focus was on accepting and valuing each member of their peer group, and using their talents to work together - it is through working together that a community is built.

Charity fundraising

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising activities last week. The 'Green day' for St Patrick's day raised $467.70 - an excellent fundraiser for our junior St Vincent de Paul conference.

Our ongoing Project Compassion appeal raised $361.20 last week. Again, thank you to everyone who is supporting these worthwhile charities. Helping others, and putting others needs before our own, are signs of a caring Christian community.

Secondary Mass

This Friday at 9.15 am 8M will be hosting the mass at Sacred Heart Church. The theme of the mass is taken from the gospel of the day, the great commandment: Love the Lord your God, and love your neighbour.

Parents and grandparents are most welcome to join us for the celebration of the mass.

Confirmation enrolment

Congratulations to the students who have been formally enrolled in the Confirmation program for 2017. If there are any parents who were unable to attend the masses last weekend to enrol their child, they will need to let Fr Roel know when they attend mass in the next two weeks.

Prayer Celebrations

Assembly prayers this week will be conducted by 5/6M in the Primary, and 1/2M in the Infants. 5/6B will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Thursday in the AV room.
