Walking to and from school
Last week a student was followed a short distance home from school by two youths. This was reported to the Police. We spoke to all students regarding the need to vigilant with their safety at all times. Please contact me if you have any queries.
Year of Youth Cross
Last Friday Ella, Riley, Will, Beccy, Mr Gibson and myself travelled to Delungra Catholic Church to receive the Year of Youth Cross from St Joseph's School Warialda. The cross is in our school for this week before we hand it over to St Joseph's Tenterfield. Mr Gibson has more about the cross in the "Celebrating our Faith" section of the newsletter.
Remembrance Day
On Sunday 11 November our school will be taking part in the centenary of Remembrance Day. The RSL has organised a march like ANZAC day. We will be meeting at the corner of Oliver and Vivian St at 10:15 and marching to the cenotaph at the pool for the service at 10:45am. All students are welcome to attend. Students need to wear their summer uniform and wear their school hat.
Painters
We currently have painters in our school painting a number of our buildings. The painters have been contracted by the CSO and should be in the school for the next three weeks.
Lockdown Drill
Yesterday we had a lockdown drill. We regularly have emergency drills to practice and check our procedures. All students were very responsive to the drill.
2019 Planning
Planning is underway for next year. Please inform the school if your children will not be returning in 2019 to help with our class organisation. On Wednesday we are conducting primary teacher interviews to fill some temporary positions.
Parent Support
We are lucky at Holy Trinity to have so much parental support. If you would like to give a little more, our two formal parent groups - the P and F and the School Advisory Council are having their AGM's this term. On Thursday at 12:30pm the P and F are meeting in the Meeting Room. All are welcome. Nominations for the School Advisory Council are now being called. The AGM is on Thursday 15 November at 7:30pm. If you are interested please call the school so I can have a chat and organise a nomination form.
