Student Leadership Induction Ceremony

It was an absolute pleasure to have the company of many parents and carers to support the induction of students who have been successful in gaining leadership positions across the College this year. The ceremony was led by the 2018 College Captains and students received badges as part of their induction.

Guests shared in a celebratory lunch after the ceremony and it was lovely to see the conversations and proud moments between families. We are looking forward to working with and watching these students grow into their leadership roles throughout 2018. They should feel proud of their achievement and be excited to take on different opportunities and develop their skills.

Student Leadership Development Day

Students who attained positions in Year Level Leadership Teams were invited to attend a Leadership Development Day at Carrum Lifesaving Club. The students heard from Mike Rolls who taught them about resilience and moving out of their comfort zones. Through rotation activities they were taken through a variety of activities about how to make speeches engaging, tips on public speaking, leadership styles and their strengths and weaknesses as a leader. They were given group challenges where they needed to work across year levels to achieve. This was amazing to see the group dynamics and leadership qualities shine through. It was a great success and a wonderful way for these students to start their leadership journey.
