STUDENTS RIDING BICYCLES TO SCHOOL
Please ensure your child wears a proper bicycle helmet when riding to school and they take extra care when travelling the narrow streets of McKinnon. We have had some incidents and near misses lately and are very worried that some students do not exercise sufficient care they should on the roads. Likewise, we ask all parents to drive and park cautiously around the College before/after school, and to be mindful of the many students riding bicycles to and from the College.
If your child rides their bike to school, they must lock it securely to the bike racks provided behind the Hall (near the Uniform Shop). Please ensure they have a sturdy bike lock and never leave their bikes overnight at school. Bikes must not be locked to the outside of the fencing near the bus shed - if this occurs bikes will be confiscated.
PARENT-TEACHER-STUDENT INTERVIEWS
Parent-teacher-student interviews for Semester 2 will be conducted in September (in the last 3 weeks of Term 3). These interviews provide a valuable opportunity to discuss your child’s progress, celebrate their successes and plan for further improvement. Bookings will be made online using Compass in the coming weeks - all parents will be notified via email when bookings can be made.
AFTER-HOURS ACCESS TO THE COLLEGE
Parents and students are reminded that the College’s buildings and grounds cannot be accessed after-hours and on weekends. Students should ensure they take home all items they may need during a weekend/school holidays on Friday, as lockers and classrooms cannot be accessed. Students should not attempt to access their locker during weekends and school holidays.
