Care Group Transition 2018
You may have already heard from your child about the exciting changes occurring in 2018 surrounding Care Groups. With College enrollment expanding again in 2018, we are conscious of our school mission, specifically regarding the level of pastoral care and support available to students. ‘Knowing the individual student’ is a critical goal for our College and therefore the size of a Care Group is an important consideration in order to meet that brief. We have therefore decided, that in order to keep Care Groups at an acceptable size and at a more relational level, the College will move to an additional Care Group per Village in 2018. We currently have 24 Care Groups across the 8 Villages and will move to 32 in 2018. There will be no increase in the number of Villages.
Last week students were informed of this and were allowed to indicate their willingness to be part of the new Care Group in their Village. Their choices are now being reviewed and a consultation process will begin to shift each Village from 3 Care Groups to 4. We very much respect the attachment students have with their current Care Groups, Care Group teachers and friends so we enter into this process with those sensitivities in mind. Students are also currently thinking of ways to “rebrand” or “rename” the Care Groups for 2018 from their current E, N, D titles. Once final suggestions have been made, students will also be engaged in the final decision.
This is an exciting time of growth for the school and we look forward to working with students and parents to continue to strive for excellent outcomes for all students.

2017 - So much to celebrate
As this year draws to a close there are several events that we as a College use to celebrate the achievements and work of our students. Families are warmly encouraged to attend these events and celebrate the learning that has occurred throughout the College this year.
Arts Showcase
The hunt for the missing cards has already begun! This year the Art, Design and Music Learning Areas will showcase the work of students in the senior years as well as students from our Connected Schools in an Alice in Wonderland event. Please join us in the Endeavour Centre from 6.00pm on Thursday 16 November for this much anticipated evening.
Valedictory Service and Celebration Supper
On Thursday 23 November at 7.00pm we will hold our annual Valedictory Service and Celebration Supper. This service will focus primarily on the achievements of the graduating Year 12 class. Graduating students and their families are invited to attend the celebration supper in the Mall after the service. RSVPs are due Friday 11 November. Year 11 students are expected to attend the service and their families are encouraged to attend with them.
Senior Years Final Service
This will be held at 2.00pm on Wednesday 6 December in the Endeavour Centre and will include the presentation of school awards to Year 10 and 11 students. Families are most welcome to attend. No RSVP is necessary.
Middle Years Final Service
The Middle Years Final Service, while not the last official school day for middle years students, will see students in Year 7 – 9 celebrate together their achievements for 2017. This service will include the presentation of school awards. Families are most welcome to attend from 1.30pm on Monday 11 December in the Endeavour Centre. No RSVP is necessary.
Final Day of School for Middle Years students
Students will be dismissed from the College at 2.00pm on Tuesday 12 December. The College will provide supervision for students who are unable to be picked up by parents or who travel via our College buses to Good Shepherd and Golden Grove. These buses will be running at normal times.
Families wishing to attend these events are encouraged to take advantage of parking at one of the adjacent UniSA carparks, which are free after 6.00pm and cost $1.60 to park in during the day.
