Daniel Lukies 

Our Head of Secondary has just completed his third Educational Resource for the Herald Sun News in Education. Giving back in his own time, Dan has created an Education Kit for Year 7 to Year 10 students focussing on Ancient Cultures and Civilisations. The 86 page resource includes worksheets designed to accompany the Herald Sun: Ancient Cultures and Civilisations poster series which will be published later this year.

This teaching resource will be accessed by students across the country. The activities utilise a variety of teaching and learning strategies building important skills across a number of VELS disciplines and interdisciplinary priorities. It also uses activities from Havard Project Zero: Visible Thinking Routines which have proven effective around the world. Daniel was a founding member of the Biallik Visible Thinking Collaborative Group and has developed and led Professional Development sessions for this group and others. He has also developed and led several curriculum focused study tours abroad. Be sure to check out his fantastic resource when it becomes available later this year!

Sportstar of the Year 2016 Junior Finalists

Congratulations to Patrick Eddy (Year 9), Mitchell Wickham and Brenton Urbaniak (Year 10) and Isabella Crossman (Year 5) who are all Junior Finalists for Sportstar of the Year 2016. A fantastic effort by all. We wish them all the best!
