From the Principal Team
Principal Team Report – Last one!
The end of the year is nearly upon us and we are busy finalising our work and packing up the school for 2019 and preparing for 2020.
Curriculum Day Wednesday 4th December
Staff from across the four secondary schools spent the day finalising curriculum and preparations for each of the three campus of Greater Shepparton Secondary College in 2020. Teachers have focused on integrating 21st Century skills, the inclusion of Student Voice and Agency, individualised differentiated learning strategies and extension tasks to challenge all students that are creative, different in style that cater for all students. We are very much looking forward to watching the students accelerate in their learning next year.
Celebrating 110 Years
On Sunday 1st December the school opened its doors to the Shepparton community, to not only celebrate 110 years of secondary education, but to also bid a farewell to Shepp High as we know it. The day was a buzz of excitement with teacher Julie Natalizio singing the traditional school song, a cake cutting, school tours, photo booth and loads and loads of reminiscing. We sincerely thank everyone who was involved in planning and taking part in the event. It was wonderful to have so many past and present Shepp High students, staff and families return on the day.
Orientation Day at Greater Shepparton Secondary College - McGuire Campus
We welcomed our new Grade 6 students to Orientation Day on Tuesday and the excitement and anticipation was obvious. The transition team across the secondary schools have worked very closely with the primary schools to develop a comprehensive transition program to allow the new students to experience a taste of secondary school in preparation for next year. These young students are looking forward to next year and many positive comments were heard from smiling faces which was terrific to see.
Presentation Night
The Shepparton High School Presentation night will be held on Monday 16th December at Eastbank in Shepparton. The night will be a great opportunity to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of so many of our students throughout the year in a range of different fields – the arts, academic achievement, sport, leadership and citizenship. Award winners will be published after Monday night.
Reports
Reports for Years 7-11 students will be uploaded uploaded to Xuno by next Friday December 20th. If you have not accessed Xuno previously please contact the school on 58214322 for logon details and they will be emailed out to you. Given the change to Greater Shepparton Secondary College it would be worthwhile to download all your child's reports.

Moving On
After twelve amazing years of working at Shepparton High School and having the honour of leading the school as Principal over the past 18 months, I (Christine Cole) have made the decision to move to Melbourne to be closer to my family and will be taking on the role of Campus Principal at Essendon Keilor College in 2020. This decision, which was a very difficult one to make, is one that will allow me to take on a new challenge professionally and I look forward to embracing the opportunity. I will dearly miss the Shepparton High School community and will make sure I keep up-to-date with the transformational change that is happening.
Lastly, as a principal team we sincerely thank the Shepparton High School community for their continued support, dedication and understanding as we say farewell at the end of the school year. Over the next couple of years there is going to be a buzz of excitement on the school site, as we all watch a world class educational facility being built. We look forward to the future and embracing all the opportunities Greater Shepparton Secondary College has on offer.
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all.
