2016 YEAR 12 RETREAT

Wednesday 3 to Friday 5 February

The Year 12 Retreat is a positive and productive start to the students’ most important school year, providing them with an opportunity to set goals, develop essential study habits and revision skills.

Students will take part in workshops lead by teachers, coordinators and external guest speakers, giving the students an early opportunity to build positive relationships so that the year that follows is a productive one.

The total cost is $260. The deposit and indemnity form  was due on Friday 18 September. The balance is due before Friday 20 November.

Attendance at the Retreat is expected from all students undertaking Year 12 in 2016.

VCE EXAMs

Students completing Units 1/2 will sit internal exams and will need to check their personal exam timetable to check if there are any clashes.  It is the students responsibility to complete an ‘exam clash’ form ASAP (available from the VCE Office) to organise to sit the exam at another time.

Students completing Units 3/4 (including Year 11 students) are currently sitting external VCAA Exams, which run from October 29 to November 21.

Please refer to the VCAA website for exam timetables (www.vcaa.vic.edu.au).

External VCAA exams can’t be rescheduled.

MAKING UP ABSENCES

Attendance at school and at all timetabled classes is compulsory.  100% attendance is required unless for legitimate reasons – illness, hardship or accident where students must provide written evidence to the Form Teacher immediately upon return to school.

If a student has more than 3 unapproved absences or 10 approved absences in any study, they may receive N for that unit.

However, all is not lost! Students are able to make up this classes during a short window (before the end of the exam period). Students must make an effort to speak to their Coordinators to make sure they are up to date.

POSITIVE PREPARATION

Now is the hour of practice exams.  Amazing clinical psychologist Andrew Fuller has been working with the school and has put together a preparation guide just for you.

He says, "if you have looked recently at an exam paper and thought, “I know that I know this but I can't remember anything”, if you have stayed awake in the middle of the night worrying about a test the next day, if you have ever felt butterflies in your stomach or a headache whenever you think of an upcoming test, here are a few ideas for you";

YEAR 12 RESULTS

Below is some information regarding how to access your results:

Students have three options for accessing 2015 VCE results and the ATAR.

1.  Internet

To access VCE results and ATAR score online via the Results and ATAR Service website.

The Results Service PIN defaults to the first four digits of the student’s Birthdate  (e.g. 3 February is 0302).

All students are advised to protect their privacy by changing their Results Service PIN to a secure number prior to the release of results.

The Results Service PIN can be changed at the VCAA and VTAC PIN Management login screen, or through the VTAC user account. For more information about changing PINs, please refer to the instructions on the VCAA website.

Note: VTAC user account ID and PIN can no longer be used as a Results Service PIN to access results from resultsandatar.vic.edu.au

The SMS service is provided by Salmat Digital. SMS cost $1.10 maximum (including GST). Obtain bill payer’s permission before using this service. Call 1800 501 083 for help with SMS registration.
