INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC
END OF YEAR CONCERT
Congratulations to all Instrumental Music students on their performances at the End of Year Concert on Monday 26 October.
The Instrumental Music staff and I were very proud of the developing musical talents on show, and the fearless performances from all students. It was great to see many students performing as part of multiple bands/ensembles and showcasing skills on many instruments.
Special congratulations to all of our Year 12 performers on their last LHS concert. We wish the best of luck to Alex Cossey, Isabel Thompson, Ben Barratt, Sarah Bamford, Bianca Mundie, Olivia Forsyth, Jaydn Gifford, Lisa Cullen, Emily White and Michael Dossett.
Behind the scenes, our LHS Instrumental Music and Arts staff work tirelessly to help students rehearse and perform their music. Thank you to Karla Nyhuis, Stephen McCulloch, Kent Fisk, Bronwyn Ventura, Malcolm Abbott, Bonnie Poduska and Kate McAlister. The performances from students at the concert, and throughout the year, are a testament to their wonderful work.
Thank you to all families and friends of students who came on the night to support the performances. We appreciate your attendance and enjoy seeing you at all LHS music events throughout the year.
Special thanks to the ever entertaining Emily Artis (Year 9) and Emily Svarnias (Year 11) who hosted the event on the night. Also thanks to Georgia Corbett (Year 9) who ran the sound desk, and the many Year 9 and 10 students who helped set up and pack down the concert gear and equipment.
It is wonderful to see such independence and maturity from our Music students who helped coordinate and own their concert. Another fantastic Music night by the students. We’re very proud of your performances musos, well done!

WORKSHOP REHEARSALS
Instrumental Music
Well done to all band/ensemble students who worked tirelessly in the week leading up to the End of Year Concert in their workshop rehearsals.
The music being rehearsed during Periods 5 and 6 by all a bands/ensembles on their respective days was fantastic to hear throughout the PAC Hallway.
Thanks to all of the Instrumental Music staff for running great workshops and rehearsals for the students.
Students are advised to check with their Instrumental teachers, and Compass, for band/ensemble rehearsal schedules to see which bands/ensembles are running as the school term finishes for each year level respectively.
OCTOBER ARTS FESTIVAL
During Week 2 and 3 of Term 4, many Music students performed as part of the October Arts Festival.
Congratulations to all students who put together small performances for lunchtime gigs in the Middle School Quadrangle. The Music staff were very proud of all the students work and the musical talents on show.
LILYDALE SHOW
On the back of their 'Battle of the Bands' performance, the Year 10 band 'Waiting On Apricity' will be performing on the Main stage at the Lilydale Show on Saturday 21 November.
