Pop Up Market
On the 20th of August the Senior and Intermediate VCAL teams ran a Pop-up Market to raise funds for Bethany, an independent, not-for-profit organisation who support struggling men, women and children in the Geelong/Barwon region.
Our task was to create and sell a product with at least one upcycled (re-used from something else) component. Some of the amazing products on offer included personalized calendars, scrunches, chalkboard photo frames and macramé hanging plants. In total we raised nearly $400 for the charity organisation. Even if it did get a little hard to sell our products towards the end of the day as less parents came to interviews I believe it was an overall rewarding experience. The project gave a lot of insight to what it takes to run a business from scratch, even if it only was for a small, one day market. A huge thank-you to everyone who came to support us and buy our products.
