BREAKFAST CLUB

Geraldine Eales

Breakfast Club has had another fantastic term!

It is a great place to have breakfast and catch up with friends.

THANK YOU TO OUR MANY VOLUNTEERS!!!

The Breakfast Club is extremely fortunate to have a great band of volunteers and staff who offer their time, and also financial support so generously.

Please meet a few....

Chloe, Liz and Meg are part of the awesome Deakin Rotaract team. These great community minded young people have been volunteering for nearly two years on a Monday and Friday.  Liz was recently nominated for a well deserved volunteer award. Always happy to help, working and having a chat with students, the Deakin Rotaract group have again offered support for the 2015 program. Not only will they continue to volunteer, the Rotaract members have been extremely generous in continuing their financial support of the program in 2015, which is immensely appreciated.

Terry is the morning "Wing-man". Terry started volunteering as one of our many volunteers from " St Albans " Church.  Starting at 7, Terry now volunteers every morning, cooking up a storm!  Other church members also volunteer every Tuesday.

Marlie (also known as the Pancake Lady) volunteers every Wednesday.  Marlie often has a queue of students lining up for her very well known pancakes. Pictured here with Faye Hartup who is an M.E.A at NGSC.  Faye generously volunteers Monday to Wednesday backing up the other volunteers, with whatever job is needed. Sue is our other Wednesday volunteer. Sue also has been coming for around a year, cooking eggs, by the dozens!

Anje and James started volunteering at the start of 2013 every Thursday morning. They have continued this year, even though they are deep in Year 12 studies and exam preparation, and always with huge smiles on their faces!

These amazing young people were responsible for organising and running a "Trivia Night" at the start of this term to support the Breakfast program. Anje and James sourced raffle prizes, organised entertainment and catering. A extremely fun night was had  by a "Full House".  $1250 was raised on the night,  helping purchase various perishables, such as the huge amount of cheese used on a weekly basis.  "Best of luck and thank you"  to Anje and James as they prepare for their exams.

I look forward to another great term with our wonderful volunteers and students.

Have a great break!
