Uniform
Please keep in mind that all students must continue to wear full school uniform until their last day. All students must wear the full uniform at the formal awards ceremony on the 15 December so make sure that your child has uniform to wear. If your child has grown out of their uniform then these items can be sold at a second hand uniform shop during the summer holidays (January), or donated to the school.
Summer uniform –Girls are not to wear leggings or black tights with the summer uniform. Long sleeve tops of any colour worn under the dress are also not permitted. There are exceptions based on religious reasons. All dresses must be of a respectable length - this is approximately no shorter than 8cm above the knee. Parents and carers will be asked to work with the school and fix any uniform issues. Please see your Year Level Coordinator if you have questions about the uniform policy. The policy is available on the school website.
Congratulations
Congratulations to all students who are making an extra effort with their learning or with improving their behaviour. It is very important that all of the advice and goals from the recent Parent-teacher interviews are put in place early in term 4 with the aim of finishing the year well. Awards and scholarships for academic excellence, sporting participation/excellence, leadership and community service will be decided during term 4 and presented at the end of year Awards Ceremony.
Planning for 2015
The school administration is already making arrangements for the learning programs for 2015. If you have not yet communicated to the school whether your child will be staying at NGSC or transferring to another school, please contact Mrs Andrews as soon as possible.
VCE Holiday Program
During the September break Year 12 VCE students will be hard at work preparing for their final weeks of classes. During the first week a timetable of compulsory classes has been organised to assist students with their exam preparation and planning. The second week is a compulsory trial exam week run under exam conditions with an external supervisor to give the students the feel of exams. This is an extremely important part of their final preparations and it is essential for them to ensure they are fully prepared for the examinations which commence in October.
