Year 12 Final Days
The Year 12 students will have completed their courses and will now start revising their course content. Many of their subjects will be having revision classes next week with all subjects involved in exams during the second week of the holidays. This is an extremely important time where the Year 12 students need to ensure that the are working diligently in all subjects. An organised, disciplined and focused approach will help ensure that they do not have any regrets when they receive their results.
Booklists
The Year 11 and 12 Students will receive their book lists early in term four. The reasoning for the early return is so that students can receive their books in early November ready for the beginning of the Year 12 Orientation class during November. If students are going to start their senior schooling on the right foot then it is vitally important that they have all of the materials including their text books. Their 2015 schooling will begin the first day of Orientation week.
Students in Years 7 to 10 will receive their book lists later in the term ready for distribution early next year.
Works Around the School
There are a number of works to be completed around the school before the end of the term and over the holidays. The school will now have a new Kiln to be placed in E5, Art Room.
Next term the Nurse’s office will be converted into a shower and toilet. This will complement the First Aid space by providing extra facilities. The Nurse's office will be located within the Student Well-being rooms.
The NGSC Piazza is due to have another addition with the waterproof shade to be added to the Northern side of the current shade. The new outdoor settings are due to be finished and this area will become an extremely inviting environment for students to socialise during their breaks.
Parent/Teacher Interviews
It was pleasing to see so many students and parents attending the Parent/Teacher Interviews. The school understands and appreciates the important role that parents play in supporting their children in their studies. It is a team approach in improving student results. We need to work together in ensuring that all students gain results that reflect their capabilities. The interview area was filled with parents over the whole day with many of the teacher’s booking sheets completely filled. The Senior School Interviews were held at the start of the term, resulting in the recent interviews being predominately Year 7-10 students thus making the attendance even more impressive.
Lastly I would like to wish all staff and students a safe mid semester break and come back refreshed for a productive term four.
