REFLECTION 

November is a special month where we take the opportunity to remember those we have lost.  The month begins with All Saints Day on November 1st.  We are able to honour all the holy men and women who have gone before us faith, in a glorious way.  This is followed by All Souls Day, November 2nd, when we remember and pray for all those who have preceded us on the journey to heaven to be with God.  

During November there is a strong focus on regeneration of life from the Holy Spirit.  We have the opportunity through prayer to commend the souls of our loved ones to God.  It is a special time when we can pray to God to ask that the souls of our loved ones may make the ultimate reunion with God as the head of the family.

PRAYER

Into your hands, Father of mercies, 

we commend our loved ones in the sure and certain hope that, 

together with all who have died in Christ, 

they will rise with him on the last day. 

Merciful Lord, 

turn toward us and listen to our prayers:

open the gates of paradise to your servants and help us 

who remain to comfort one another with assurances of faith, 

until we all meet in Christ

and are with you and with our brothers and sisters for ever.

We ask this through Christ our Lord.
