Classroom News - Year 4

Mrs Ross and Mr Norrie

Week 3 and 4 have been packed full of exciting and new challenges for year 4, We have continued our science unit with a large number of our bean stalks now showing growth. Year 4 have been writing a diary to go with their bean stalks, these will include life cycles, diagrams, photos and written steps of the growing process.

In English we are continuing to look at poetry and limericks which year 4 seem to be enjoying learning about and playing with. Their sense of rhythm and rhyming has improved out of sight.

Religion has been exciting time with the students creating and presenting their own prayer service in small groups, many have used hymns and  Catholic meditations within their prayer service.

In Maths Year 4 has completed a money unit where students used and made budgets. They have now moved into a new unit about Data. We have been able to use the tables and budgets from the last unit as part of our Data  for this unit as well.

Yesterday Year 4 took part in the Real Talk Zoom which enlightened them to the way they use social media and the affects it can have on people. Year 4 enjoyed the time listening and contributing quality answers and questions.

Finally, a letter is being sent home with all Yr 4 students today (4/11/20) in regards to the PDHPE unit we are learning about this term. The content is clearly noted and the angle at which year 4 will be looking at the unit is from the angle of their own healthy safety and changing bodies. Can parents please return the bottom of the note signed by Friday this week so we can move forward with the unit of work as planned.
