Classes in the Secondary for Years 7 – 9 are back to normal with the completion of exams last week. The exams are only part of each student’s assessment profile and when receiving feedback from their teachers all students are encouraged to reflect on their efforts this year, and how they may improve in the future.
A great approach for students is to undertake a simple SWOT analysis:
Strengths:
Weaknesses:
Opportunities:
Threats:
Staff are currently finalising the assessment process for their classes and they are preparing reports, which will be distributed at the end of the term.
All classes will be operating as normal for the remainder of the term as there is still coursework to be completed across all KLAs.
Last week students in the Secondary Department gave up their sport time to take part in our annual Vinnies Fancy Dress Lap-a-thon.
Sponsorship forms were sent home with and students were encouraged to collect sponsorship money and make a donation to this cause.
The Lap-a-thon was very successful with $1000 being raised by students. All funds will be donated to our local chapter of St Vincent de Paul for their annual Vinnies Christmas Appeal. There were also prizes for the best outfits in all year groups and an overall best-dressed award.
Thanks to our school Vinnies group and Mrs McLachlan for coordinating the successful event.
Best Dressed Winners:
Year 7: The Mad Hatters - Lucy Wellard, Tom Sinclair, Lorenzo Mudaliar and Caleb Squires.
Year 8: Blueberry - Austin Taylor.
Year 9: COVID-19 Safety Officers -
Jed McSpedden and Isaac Hutchings.
Year 10: Sith Lords - Emma Page, Kristabelle O'Brien and Sophie Mijic.
