Wellbeing & Engagement
Engagement and Wellbeing
It has been another busy few weeks at Rangeview and we cannot believe how fast the time is flying towards the end of term. Our Foundation students enjoyed a digital Botanical Gardens Excursion and Level 6 have been working through the Body Safety program – both remotely and more recently with a face to face presenter! I was particularly proud of our students on Remembrance Day. The whole school stopped to join the Shrine of Remembrance Live Stream and the minutes silence was broken only by the sound of the Last Post which sung out from every room. We had to call the Box Hill RSL to come and deliver a fresh supplies of poppies as the Rangeview students bought them all.
On Thursday 19th November we joined via WebEx with all the other Lead Schools for a Rights, Resilience and Respectful Relationships celebration event. The teaching team led by Carol Wilson were joined by Diba and Nyah our RR Captains and we shared with the other schools the things Rangeview is proud of achieving this year. In such a strange year we have had a strong focus on wellbeing – both for students and for staff – so despite the pandemic and everything our community has gone through, there was a lot to celebrate.
Diba and Nyah have prepared a segment for this newsletter on NAIDOC Week (8th – 15th November)
RRRR NEWSLETTER (2020 November)
At Rangeview, we watched a BTN episode, talking about a well respected Aboriginal Elder, Charles Perkins. He was one of the only students at Sydney University, and this was the time when he started to become famous as a mover and shaker in the world of Aboriginal rights. I thoroughly enjoyed NAIDOC week, as a chance to learn more about the culture, achievements and history of the Aboriginal and Torress Strait Islander peoples.

Monash Youth Ambassador’s Study Skills and Motivation Videos
With exams in full swing, Monash Youth Ambassadors have produced a series of informative videos to help students manage the season. Accessing student experiences, these videos provide a peer perspective with a goal of normalising, reducing anxiety and providing useful tools to assist a diverse community of students.
Monash’s 3 videos are now available on the Monash Youth Services YouTube Channel. We encourage you to maximise these videos and share them within your online community.
This project is just one of the many #MYaction2020 activities facilitated by Monash Youth Ambassadors and Monash Youth Services, in response to the 2019 Monash Youth Survey findings.
