Level 3 & 4 News
The time certainly flies at this time of the year! With less than 4 weeks left till the end of the year Level 3 & 4 have been digging into some exciting experiences and learning. Students have been loving the warmer weather and getting outside more as we head into summer too!
For Level 3 the last few weeks have been a blast! For Flora and Fauna we have been busy out in the school garden beds planting and harvesting fresh produce, cooking up a storm making yummy rice paper rolls, and learning more about the wonders of some of Australia’s native plants and animals! In reading we have been looking at Dreamtime stories for our Inquiry unit, including Bunjil artworks. Mathematics has been a ball as we have been creating our own class Probability Carnival! We’ve been building a range of exciting carnival games, and focusing on developing our probability strategies.
The past fortnight has seen Level 4 students begin work on researching their own explorers, delving into the colourful history of the Age of Discovery. They are crafting information reports for their explorer, and will even construct a model of their journey in the coming weeks.
In Mathematics we have been learning all about Chance and Data, creating graphs with cool surveys and experiments.
We’ve also been enjoying reading the thrilling journey of The Goat that Sailed the World by Jackie French, inspired by the real life journey of Captain Cook on his first voyage to Australia!
We have lots of celebration experiences planned in the coming month as we come to the end of the school year. Stay tuned for more exciting details coming very soon! Stay healthy and safe.
