A message from the P&F President

Two weeks ago the kids appeared to have a great time at the disco. Thank you to all the parents who volunteered to make this a wonderfully fun and safe event for the kids. The disco raised $3,242.45 which will be put towards the readers, spheros, stylus’ and Grade 6 Fit-Kicks Well Being program. A big thank you once again to Maureen Puopolo and Donna Abu-Elias for organising this event.

August marks the Cancer Council’s Daffodil day. The P&F feel the QOP community has great capacity to contribute to raising funds for such an important cause. Next week the note for the Adults Only Back to the 80’s night will be distributed. The P&F would like to use this event to support the Cancer Council. So dig out the fluoro socks and big hair and please join  us on Saturday 12th October  for a fun evening with  DJ and live 80’s music. BYO food and drink. Ticket prices are $20 with all profits going directly to the Cancer Council.

The School Run4Fun Colour Explosion will be held on Friday 18th October 2019 starting at 5:00pm. This event is also shaping up to be another community celebration. The event’s focus is on fun and fitness with the added benefit of raising funds for our school. We encourage families to run with their child. To ensure everyone has fun we will run the event in waves:

• 5:30pm to 6:00pm: Grades Preps and 1
• 6:15pm to 6:45pm: Grades 2 and 3
• 7:00pm to 7:15pm: Grades 4, 5 and 6

The following food trucks will be on site on the evening: European food truck - Burgers, Hot Dogs & Chips; Coffee Van; Gelati Van and the Numero Uno Pizza Van. Notes will also be sent home for those wishing to pre-order their pizza for a particular pick up time.  Notes and further details including instructions on how to set up your child’s fundraising page will be shared via CareMonkey on the 2nd September. But make sure the date is locked into your calendar.

Thank you to all those parents who have volunteered to help at the Father’s Day Stall on the 29th August. Children will have the ability to purchase a gift for their dad, grandfather, uncle or special person. Please remember to send money in an envelope with the child’s name on it with your child next Thursday.  Also, thank you to those making Father’s Day cards to be sold at the stall.  The P&F wishes all the dads a happy Father’s Day for the 1st of September.
