Middle School Report

Middle School Report
Middle School students are working consistently to keep up with the CAT's and any other requirements that they need to do before the end of the year. I am seeing lots of persistence and perseverance.
I was lucky enough to go to a seminar by Danielle Miller who wrote "The Butterfly Effect" and listened on ways in which students can use their head and heart equally when dealing with issues with their friends. Recently I read her book on Gratitude which talked about the art of gratitude being a learned skill, that as parents and teachers we help the students to understand and then appreciate others. Through modeling we show them how grateful we are for what they have done for us.
Year 9 Report
Our Year 9 students have been working very hard in volunteering their time through the Urban Communities program. The teachers who have been attending have been happy to see the students step up and lead the activities the Primary Schools requested even during the warmer weather. Some students have been leaders and some students have been helpers.
As a reminder the Year 9's will be having their exams which are on the 4th and 5th of December and their Activity Day is on the 11th of December.
Year 7 and 8 Report
Our Year 7 and Year 8 students this week have had the opportunity to write down who they may want to be in a class with next year. They have had to think about who they work well with and not necessarily their best friends as sometimes friends can change throughout the year. This means that the classes will be mixed at the beginning of the next year in their cohort. Students will find out in the last week of term of the suggested class group, but this will be finalized by the beginning of next year.
