Mobile Phone Policy
The mobile phone policy was implemented at the beginning of term and we are pleased with how well students have accepted the new regulations. There is more chatter and laughter around the school at recess and lunch which is wonderful!
As a reminder, mobile phones are not to be used at all during the day. This includes before school, recess, lunchtime, in-class and after school.
Students must ensure their phones are turned off and securely stored in their locker. Students who are caught using their phone will be required to hand it into the sub school. Phones will remain in the sub school until a responsible adult can collect it.

Construction Underway for Year 7 Learning Centre
We are pleased to announce that construction of the Year 7 Learning Centre next to the C Block portables has commenced and all is on schedule.
The new two-storey building will include 10 general classrooms, two multi-use science rooms and a student toilet block. The area between the C-block portables and C-block main buildings has been fenced off, and will remain out-of-bounds for students and staff throughout the construction period.
Earthworks are now complete. The next stage will be the installation of underground services and laying the structural slab.
The project is scheduled for completion in late August 2020.
School Clubs for 2020
Did you know that DSC has a variety of fantastic clubs and activities for students to participate in?
2020 School Clubs & Activities:
- Art Club (Mr Tomada and Mr Cross): Thursday lunchtimes in B3. All year levels welcome. Activities vary week-to-week based on students' interests.
- Year 7 Art Club (Mr Cross and peer buddies): Tuesday lunchtimes in B3.
- Breakfast Club: Thursdays at 7:45am in the Stadium foyer. All welcome.
- Year 7 Games Club: Every second Friday lunchtime in K4 during Term One. Starts Friday, 14 February.
Homework Club: Thursdays in A Block from 3:30-4:30pm. All welcome.
Musical rehearsals (vocals): Tuesday lunchtimes and Thursday after school. Contact Wendy Howes for details.
- Debating and Public Speaking (Ms Martin): Preparation/training will occur during lunch on Wednesdays for junior students - reminders will be posted on Compass. Seniors can make alternative arrangements with Ms Martin as needed. Held in C Block (usually C5). Debates are held on Thursday evenings in Ivanhoe.
- Green Team(Ms Farley, student leaders): Monday lunchtimes in L1.
- STEAM Club (Ms Purches): Tuesday lunchtime in G6. Available to students in all year levels.
- International Sport Club (Mr Liu and Mr Su): Fridays from 3:30-4:30pm in the DSC Stadium. Basketball and badminton.
- International Homework Club (Ms Liao, Ms Tran and Ms Lee): Every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30pm-4:30pm in L7. To assist International Students adjust to DSC life and to support their academic progress.
