NEWS FROM THE OFFICE

Welcome back!

The year has only just started, but there are already lots of things for parents to consider.

Remember, the office staff are here to help with any queries you may have.

Welcome to our Prep Students!

We are delighted to welcome all our new students at Roxburgh Park Primary School, but an extra special welcome to our students in prep who are commencing their educational journey.

All students in prep are provided with a red communication bag with the school logo on the front.  These bags are to be kept by the student for the duration of their time at the school.  Please check these bags, as teachers will send home readers, notes and other items of communication in them.

Additionally, all prep students in the State will receive a red, draw string bag with numerous items supplied by the Department of Education.  We are waiting on a final delivery of these bags, and then they will be handed to all prep students.

All students at Roxburgh Park Primary School are expected to wear hat in terms 1 and 4. The school hats are available for purchase from the office for $15.00 each.

Have you logged in to Sentral?

Sentral is the major communication tool used by the school to communicate with parents.

You can find out about the Sentral app on their website:  Parents Portal and App - Sentral

If you have forgotten your log in details to Sentral, please contact the office, and we will be able to help you with logging in.

Student Details

Have you moved address?  Changed telephone numbers?  Selected a new doctor to look after your family?  Need to update the emergency contacts the school can call?

If there have been changes in your life that affect your child, you may need to update your details at the school.

We do aim to send out a "Student Enrolment Information Form" for each student in the next week or so.  These forms show the details the school has on our system for your child.    We will be asking that parents check the details on the form.  If any information needs updating, then we ask that you please make alterations on the form, sign the front cover, and return the form to the school office.

Parent Payments

Thank you to all the families who have made a contribution to the school in the form of curriculum contributions.

We are accepting parent payments at the school office, and will be sending home another copy of the parent payments arrangements to all families.  The Parent Payments Arrangements outlines what the curriculum contributions support at the school.  Any contribution a family can make assists with supporting the educational needs or all our students.

Camps, Sports, Excursions Fund (CSEF)

Eligible families are able to apply for Camps, Sports, Excursions Funds (CSEF) to assist with the cost of students attending these types of activities.  The funds cannot be used for other purposes, but may help families to cover the costs associated with their child attend camp and other activities.  To register for CSEF, a form needs to be completed and handed in to the school office.  Copies of the form are available in the school foyer.

To be eligible for CSEF, a parent or carer needs to be receiving a benefit, and have an appropriate benefit card.  Cards such as Disability Support Pension, Health Care Card, Job Seeker, Parenting Payment and Sickness Allowance cards are some examples of accepted cards.  Staff at the office can assist with questions about your eligibility for CSEF.

Lost Property

Has your child lost an item at school?

Lots of jumpers and jackets already made their way into the lost property box.  If your child has lost an item, please check the lost property.

We also suggest that you put your child's name on all their items.  If items are clearly marked with a child's name (and maybe their class) the office staff will return the item to the your child.
