Develop a love for movement
We have capped off an amazing start to the term by connecting with our new classmates through a variety of fun and active connection and team work based activities. All grades have worked closely together to complete tasks that require teamwork, communication and trust in each other.
During sport our grade 5 & 6 students have been practicing in preparation for the weekly interschool sport competitions. The cricket, volleyball, basketball and tee ball teams have been improving each session and are looking forward to competing.
This term we have a number on cricket programs being ran by Woolworths and Cricket Australia. We have a Before school cricket blast happening each Thursday, 16th, 23rd of Feb & 2nd, 9th of March at 8am. This is aimed at getting students to school on time and moving around before class.
Wednesday lunch times we are also running a Girls only cricket blast on the soccer pitch. This is on the 15th, 22nd of Feb & 1st, 8th of March. This is ran by all women coaches and aimed at bringing more girls into a fun and exciting sport, without any pressure.
Moving forward, the focus for our prep to 2 will be on 'Moving and Understanding our Bodies.' Grades 3 & 4 will be looking at 'Health and Fitness games' while grade 5 & 6 will be looking into 'Skill Related Fitness Components.'
