Fair News

To successfully run the Solway Fair we need at least 300 volunteers on Saturday 18th March.

Please help us make the 2023 Fair a massive success by volunteering on one of our many stalls.

THE CAKE STALL  - Hello Solway community,

As it's been years since our last Solway Fair, and with so many people who have never experienced one, we thought it was important to send out a message for you all to learn more about how the cake stall is run and what we need from our lovely Solway families to make it successful.

Over the past few weeks we have recruited a team of bulk bakers that will be using all the donated ingredients to bake as much as possible for the stall. As you can imagine, we can’t rely on that alone for the stall to be a success.

We will be asking each family to please bring in a plate of something on Friday 17 March, the day before the fair. These baked goods can be: slices, brownies, cupcakes, honey joys, a whole cake etc. We understand that life can be very busy, or baking might not be your cup of tea, so we'd appreciate if you can enlist a grandparent, auntie or friend that may like to contribute a baked good to sell at our stall. The more we have to sell the better!

Please watch out for a message with more details on this closer to the time. In the meantime, please keep bringing in the much needed ingredients for our bulk bakers! A reminder of the much needed ingredients are SR flour, sugar, unsalted butter, brown sugar, golden syrup, milk chocolate chips and icing sugar which can be left in the cake stall container at the front office!

We are so excited about bringing our community back together again and are very grateful for your help with our stall!

Many thanks

The Cake Stall team
