Tom, our senior teacher, welcomed baby Lenny (Lennox) a few weeks ago and is returning from the bliss of Parental Leave this week. We know Tom and his wife Sarah have been loving all of the joy Lenny has brought to their family.

We also wish Phoebe and Alyce all of the happiness new babies can bring. They both will be departing Wollert within the next few weeks to prepare for the arrival of their babies with their families. We can't wait for all the babies to return for a cuddle or two.

Introducing our SCHOOL COUNCIL PRESIDENT

Greetings! As the newly elected School Council President, I am thrilled to have the privilege of addressing you through our school newsletter. My name is Sweetha and I have 2 wonderful children, Pia and Kal-El who are in Grade 5 and Grade 4 respectively. This is our second year at Wollert Primary School and we are happy to have such a wonderful team led by Leanne, Jodee, teachers and staff members.

Firstly, I want to emphasise that my role as School Council President is not limited to my ideas alone. I am here to serve as a representative for the children and parents of WPS, and your input is essential in shaping our school's future. As representatives of the school council, we value your involvement, contributions and aspirations.

My fellow council members and I are here to ensure that every student feels supported, heard, and valued within our school. We are dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where all students can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. Our school is more than just a place of education; it is a hub of diverse talents, cultures, and aspirations.

In conclusion, I am excited and honoured to lead the School Council this year. I am confident that with our collective efforts, we can make a significant and positive impact on our school community. Let us embrace this opportunity to grow, learn, and support one another. Together, we will build a school environment that is nurturing, inclusive, and empowering. If you have any questions or concerns, do approach me or Vice President Jodie Hutchinson for a friendly chat. Alternatively, you can always reach out to Leanne via the Wollert Primary School email.

We will be introducing Jodie to you in our June Newsletter.

School Council - School Crossing moves again

Our last school Council was an opportunity to talk through school goals, achievement but also community needs, facility needs and operations that drive our school day to day.

Some key information includes information from the Whittlesea Council regarding the pedestrian crossing on High Park Drive.

After some monitoring by the council, we have been informed that the High Park Drive pedestrian crossing will be moved back to the original position opposite Ashline Street in the next few weeks.

School Council is Tuesday 6th June 2023 5.30pm - 6.30pm

District Cross Country

Wednesday 17th May our school participated in District Cross Country  for the very first time. Narelle, our Phys. Ed Teacher, provided the opportunity for over 40 of our students to compete against many other schools in the district. This was a follow on from our Fun Run in Term 1, with students who placed high being able to put themselves forward for this event.

We encouraged our students to bring their personal best, embrace the fun and energy of the day, regardless of where they placed. It was a great day and we would like to congratulate all of our students on their effort. We would like to acknowledge Dinuli, one of our students, who placed 9th in her run and allows her to move to the next level of cross country running.

Fundraising Goal started

Our fundraising quest has started with the Mother's Day Stall and Raffle making close to $4000.00. We are overwhelmed with the generosity and kindness our families continue to show when we need them.

We have goal of raising money to extend our play areas for our students with the growing student numbers. We will keep updating you of our growing funds as we continue to aim for this goal throughout this year and next.
