Celebrating Year 12 Retreat
Last week the Year 12’s took a trip down to Ballarat for their annual Year 12 Retreat. It was held at Federation University, where students got to live in the Fed Uni Living campus dorms for the duration of their stay. Students went Go Karting, shopped around Ballarat, played team bonding games/activities, and spent lots of free time enjoying what the campus had to offer.
The highlight of the Retreat had to be Trivia Night, where we saw numerous staff come down to play a game of trivia against students. It’s always a marque event of any Year 12 Retreat, that is completely ran by the students. This year saw the likes of Mr Lord acting out movie scenes, teachers and students singing and lots of competitive banter between the teacher and student teams.
Students were treated with a talk from guest speaker Fiona Harris, who spoke about her experiences growing up wanting to be an actress and how being versatile lead her down the path of many successful endeavours, inspiring students that anything is possible with passion.
I’d like to send a big thank you to the Wellbeing and Careers team for all they did on Retreat. Thank you to all staff that came down for trivia night, it was great to see you having fun with students. And a big thank you to all staff that stayed on Retreat, with a special mention to Katie Dowsett for organising it.

Year 12 Coordinator
